
Slow start hampers Wolves
The Northern State Wolves were unable to overcome a slow start to the night in a 73-88 loss to the Golden Eagles of Minnesota, Crookston Saturday night in NSIC men's basketball action. Wolves were lead by Collin Pryor's 19 points, the Wolves got 15 from senior Alex Thomas, 12 from Dustin Tetzlaff and 11 from sophomore Jared Hannigan. Becken's heroics lift Wolves
After being held to just two points a night earlier, Emily Becken came out with a chip on her shoulder hitting the game winning basket while setting a new career mark and Wolves season high of 27 points, in the Wolves (13-10, 8-9 NSIC) 67-66 victory over Minnesota, Crookston in NSIC action on Saturday afternoon. The Wolves return to action facing in-state rivals Augustana College on Friday February 10th in a 6 p.m. match up in Sioux Falls. Dragons outduel Wolves
A double-double from senior Mikayla Barondeau was not enough to overcome a 21 point deficit as the Minnesota State University of Moorhead Dragons (10-9, 7-8 NSIC) defeated the Northern State Wolves (12-10, 7-9 NSIC) 58-47 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play on Friday evening in Moorhead, Minnesota. The Wolves were led by Mikayla Barondeau with 11 points, leaving her just nine points shy from the coveted 1,000 career point club, while also snagging 10 rebounds.
